In this section we will guide you through the installation of the main components from i-refactory.
As showed in the i-refactory Overview, i-refactory has main 5 components, which can be installed in three main steps:
The i-refactory modeller is based on SAP PowerDesigner. We have enhanced the out of the box SAP PowerDesigner software with tools to capture the data and metadata necessary for the data logistics automation. Read the i-refactory modeller installation to proceed with the installation of PowerDesigner and the i-refactory extensions.
The configuration and setup of the SQL Server database might require different skills and prerequisites. We assume you are a DB-admin or have sufficient rights to create or alter the required SQL Server objects. We also assume that you are acquainted with managing a SQL Server database. The DBA admin — who has configured the SQL Server — should provide you with the SQL Server specific information you will need when installing the i-refactory server components. You should be a system administrator with sufficient rights to create and install components on a server or virtual machine. Read the install instructions for SQL Server setup for i-refactory server to proceed.
Once you've completed the setup of SQL Server, you can go ahead and start the configuration and installation of the other i-refactory components. Read Install i-refactory server to proceed with the installation of the remainder components.
The main purpose of the Logical Validation Layer (LVL) is to transform the data received from external data sources to fit into the logical data model structure. It is also responsible for validating deliveries. The Logical Validation Layer is also known as the Historical Staging In (HSTGIN) Layer.
